Yuiko Yoshikawa is a second-year master’s student at NYU’s Center for Global Affairs pursuing a degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Gender Studies. 

She worked as a freelance writer and editor for several women’s web media in Japan. While working, she developed a strong interest in gender equality. Her interests include women’s political empowerment, feminism, and the intersection between gender and climate change. As a “Zainichi Korean" minority in Japan, she is also interested in discrimination and human rights violations against immigrants and xenophobia. 

Yuiko holds a J.D. from Kansai University in Japan. She has written a wide range of legal articles for Japanese law firms, on issues such as divorce cases, sex crimes, traffic accidents, and criminal cases.
