Shalini is in her final year of a bachelor’s degree in Geography at Kings College London. She has a background volunteering for Amnesty, Oxfam and working for Debate Mate, a company set on improving social mobility by teaching key skills through debate. She has always been passionate about human rights and equality.
After part-taking in field research and writing a dissertation on female empowerment in Kerala, India, she decided to focus particularly on empowering women and children. During her time with GNWP, Shalini hopes to write a dissertation on GNWP’s Localization program, with a focus on the Philippines. She has gained invaluable knowledge on the WPS agenda, UNSCR 1325 and international coordination, and has helped revamp GNWP’s communications strategy.
