Dorie Reisman is a Graduate Student at New York University. She is pursuing a Masters Degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Gender Studies. Prior to studying at NYU, Dorie spent 7 years working professionally in the fields of Public Relations and Marketing. She was previously a Senior Account Director at WME|IMG (which is now called Endeavor), where she led and coalesced the work of subject matter experts across the strategy, sponsorship, events and communications team to create and implement integrated marketing campaigns and digital content strategies for a range of clients. Her previous client roster includes: Marriott Hotels, NRG, Dick’s Sporting Goods, SUBWAY Restaurants, Timex, among others.
Until giving birth to her daughter in 2017, Dorie did not fully appreciate the social inequalities affecting women in the United States. So, as both a dreamer and a doer, Dorie decided to take her marketing experience and ambition to promote social justice in a new professional direction, one that will contribute to building a stronger foundation for national and international women’s rights. Last semester, Dorie’s research predominantly examined if peacebuilding frameworks address the needs of the female heads of households in post-conflict settings.
