Tasmia is the Program Officer for Bangladesh at GNWP. She has been involved in supporting the Young Women Leaders for Peace Program in Bangladesh and localizing the country’s National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security. In this capacity, she has experience promoting the economic and social development of young women from conflict-affected areas.

 

Prior to joining GNWP, Tasmia gained experience working to address the humanitarian crisis in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. There, she researched protection for women, advocated for women’s participation in building social cohesion and promoted youth engagement in addressing gender discrimination among Rohingya refugees. 

 

Tasmia is passionate about changing the plight of women in her country by standing up against all forms of violence against women, advocating for gender equality and promoting women’s empowerment.
