Resource Mobilization and Communications Specialist
Shawna is the Resource Mobilization and Communications Specialist at GNWP. Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Shawna is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where she studied international politics—with a focus on international law and institutions—as well as justice and peace. Shawna’s professional and academic interests include the role of women and youth in peacebuilding and human rights movements, gender in law and policy, and the use of technology and digital media for social justice. Outside of GNWP, Shawna has managed communications for Georgetown’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs and supported domestic peacebuilding programs at Search for Common Ground.
In addition to gender, peace, and security, Shawna has a passion for disability rights, sexual and reproductive rights, mental health, and the study of languages.
