Samira is Administrative Officer at GNWP. She holds a master’s degree in human rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor’s degree in English, with minors in human rights and psychology, from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she graduated with magna cum laude honors.

She has directed her academic focus towards studying international criminal law, particularly examining its application in prosecuting sexual and gender-based violence crimes in armed conflict. Her interests have also encompassed examining international justice mechanisms and their provision of reparations for survivors. Through her internships with both local and global human rights organizations, she has acquired valuable insights into the obstacles confronted by victims and the legal tactics required to pursue justice and accountability.

Outside of the GNWP, Samira enjoys engaging in discussions with like-minded individuals, staying up-to-date on current events and passionately pursuing documentary photography with a focus on human rights issues.
