Nicole (Nikki) Stoumen is a second-year master’s student at NYU’s Center for Global Affairs pursuing a degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in International Law and Human Rights and Peacebuilding. She is a research assistant at NYU’s Peace Research and Education Program (PREP), where she conducts participatory action research with partners in Colombia and Libya and has also consulted with Search for Common Ground in Iraq. At PREP, she is co-authoring a book chapter on the effectiveness of locally-led peacebuilding. Prior, she spent five years working as a legal advocate in the refugee and migration field both in the U.S and Latin America. Nikki holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies and Spanish and Portuguese from Tulane University.
