Nicole Mbambu Musimbi
Associate for Africa Peacebuilding Programs
Mbambu Musimbi Nicole is the president of the Young Women Leaders for Peace chapter in Béni, Democratic Republic of Congo, a GNWP program with the goal of empowering young women from conflict-affected countries to become leaders and agents of peace. Nicole works to bring visibility to women’s contributions to peacebuilding and sustainable development in her community. She is a dedicated peace activist with insightful expertise on young women's contributions to conflict prevention and peacebuilding. Her main area of work is with survivors of sexual violence and on economic empowerment.
Nicole took part in the 2021 Sister-to-Sister mentorship program, a nine-week advocacy and communications program for young women activists organized by the Nobel Women's Initiative and the Coady International Institute.
Nicole is currently co-leading the creation of a web platform dedicated to creating hope and challenging harmful narratives by offering young women a space to display their work, to share their experiences, and to find inspiration and motivation to succeed in their goals.
