Nicole Mbambu Musimbi
Junior Peacebuilding Influencer
Mbambu Musimbi Nicole is the president of the Young Women Leaders for Peace chapter in Béni, Democratic Republic of Congo, a program of the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders whose goal is to empower young women from conflict-affected countries to be leaders and agents of peace. Nicole works to bring visibility to women’s contributions to peacebuilding and sustainable development in her community. She is a dedicated peace activist with insightful expertise on young women’s contributions to conflict prevention and peacebuilding. Her main area of work is with survivors of sexual violence and on economic empowerment.
Nicole was part of the 2021 online Sister-to-Sister mentorship program of the Nobel Women’s Initiative and Coady International Institute based in Canada, for a nine-week advocacy and communications program for young women activists.
Nicole is co-leading a project that aims to change the narrative by creating hope and encouraging culture by offering young women a web platform that allows them to display their work, to share their experiences, and to find the motivation to succeed in their fields.
