Voice of the Voiceless

Background: Voice of the Voiceless was established in 2003 and its objective is to serve as a catalyst of change and transformation society (with priority on women and girls) to realize their full potential; to advocate for women’s rights and access to justice; to create awareness on women’s rights and outreach to disadvantaged women and girls; to render paralegal advise and women’s rights counseling; to create platforms for conflict resolution and reconciliation, security and peacebuilding; and to render assistance to victims of SGBV and domestic violence and help build their capacity. From October 2007 – May 2009 Voice of the Voiceless was also involved in working with women to testify in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, assisting in medical referral for SGBV victims of the war and infusing women’s views into the final recommendations of the TRC.
