Associate for Middle East and North Africa Peacebuilding Programs

Manar Amaneddine is an Associate for MENA Peacebuilding Programs. She is an activist and a feminist. She is involved in the women, peace, and security agenda for the purpose of localizing the National Action Plans for the implementation of UNSCR 1325 in the MENA region, particularly in Lebanon.

Manar is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a lecturer at the Lebanese University. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Gender Studies focusing on the role of gender in negotiation, mediation, and peacebuilding at the Lebanese American University. She has an extensive research experience in the areas of gender and public policies, gender in the Arab Gulf, gender and migration, and Arab and Islamic feminisms.

Manar has been attending workshops for the Permanent Peace Movement (PPM) prior to joining the GNWP. She is passionate for advocating for women’s rights and gender equality, her goal is to attain more political participation of women in the MENA region and on an international level through working on the WPS and YPS agendas.
