Peacebuilding Communications Intern
Lina is a Peacebuilding Communications Intern for GNWP. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development and Political Sciences at Queen’s University. She plans to pursue graduate studies in the field of Public Policy and Communications once she finishes her undergraduate degree.
Lina has extensive research experience focused on the global migration crisis and the intersection of gender and development. Recently, she has completed a research project on the dark side of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the Southern Africa garment industry. Throughout her degree, Lina has especially enjoyed the study of social movements worldwide, with a specific focus on solidarity praxis.
She is Director of Communications for the Queen’s University Chapter of Women in International Security, where she works to advance the leadership of women in the fields of international security and peace-building. Lina has also volunteered for a Nobel Women’s Initiative conference where she supported women from across the world come together to tackle the threat of fundamentalism, and discuss the importance of women in positions of power and leadership.
Lina is fluent in English and French. She has a working knowledge of Arabic, and is learning Spanish.
