Peacebuilding Program Intern for Africa

Karen-Andréa is a passionate human rights advocate and the current intern for Africa Peacebuilding Programmes at GNWP. She holds an LLB in Law and International Relations from Middlesex University and is currently a TheirWorld Global Youth Ambassador for Education, a member of the African Union Youth Reference Committee and a Women Deliver Young Leader alumni. She is strongly committed to resolving development issues in Africa, particularly those pertaining to women and children.

Prior to joining GNWP, Karen was a membership and networks intern at CIVICUS, a volunteer for UNICEF Cameroon Projects and an intern at Family Health Options Kenya, CAMNAFAW and the Youth Development Foundation in Cameroon. She has over 7 years of experience working in the non-profit and development sector, working on projects, funding and assisting on campaigns.  Her key areas of interest are International Law, Gender Youth, Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, Sustainable development among many others. Karen is a proud feminist, and intends on focusing her career on the implementation and improvement of human rights within Africa.

Outside of work, Karen is a writer and a digital artist. She enjoys creating art work centered around raising awareness and promoting advocacy on a variety of topics. She loves to read non-fictions books and learn new languages. She equally loves to travel, and hopes to one day travel the world.

From Cameroon, Karen is fluent in French and English, and possesses an elementary knowledge of Spanish, which she hopes to perfect very soon.
