Program Advisor for Papua New Guinea

Indai Sajor has over thirty years of experience working in countries in situations of war, armed conflicts and natural disasters in Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. She has been programme manager of UNDP Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan/Darfur directing development projects, gender, governance and women peace and security. Indai has also worked as Regional Gender Advisor to UN OHCHR in the Asia Pacific and was Gender and an IASC Gender Humanitarian Advisor. She was Visiting Professor at the UN University for Peace in Costa Rica teaching Gender and Peacebuilding.

Indai was trainer and mentor on Gender in Humanitarian Action and has been awarded the Rockefeller Fellow on Human Security at the City University of New York and the Dame Nita Barrow award by the University of Toronto and Gender Justice Award by the Women’s Initiative for Gender Justice. She has been deployed by the UN for an emergency response to Sudan/Darfur, Afghanistan, Iraq + others and in 2020 to Syria at the Office of UN Resident Coordinator for the Whole of Syria response.
