Wherever there are crises in the world, there are women’s nonprofits ready to help. However, women are systematically left out of making decisions and responding to crises that affect their communities.

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and its rapid spread across the world in early 2020, has brought forward the impacts that health and humanitarian emergencies can have on women’s human rights, and peace and security. It has a disproportionate impact on women and girls, aggravating domestic violence and increasing unpaid domestic labor and risk of exposure to the virus. GNWP works to ensure that women leaders get a seat at that table and have the resources, knowledge and skills to lead response in their communities.
