
Eleonore Veillet Chowdhury
Senior Program and Management Advisor
Eleonore (Ele) Veillet-Chowdhury is the Senior Program and Management Advisor at GNWP. She guides program development, grantmaking and the implementation of programs that promote the participation of women and youth in peace processes in conflict-affected countries. Ele also contributes to the organization’s many research projects and publications.
Ele joined the GNWP International Coordinating team in 2011. She has facilitated capacity-building workshops on gender equality, the prevention of sexual and gender-based violence and participatory peacebuilding in Colombia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. She has also participated the development and implementation of GNWP’s groundbreaking Localization of UNSCR 135 program, as well as the Young Women Leaders for Peace program.
Before stepping into her current role at GNWP, Ele spent 2 years working at the Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC), in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has lived and conducted research in France, Spain, Mexico, Egypt, Palestine and Israel. She brings a unique perspective to program development, policy and advocacy work that promotes the safety and participation of women and girls in building inclusive and peaceful communities.
