Peacebuilding Communications Associate

Doris is currently a Communications Intern/Associate at the Global Network for Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), where she leverages her media communications skills to amplify women’s voices and promote peacebuilding worldwide. She is an accomplished communications professional, human rights activist, and passionate advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) based in Kenya. Doris holds a Journalism and Media Communications diploma and is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Communication at St. Paul’s University. With a keen focus on advocacy and social change, Doris has dedicated her career to promoting gender equality, equity, and human rights. Doris’s professional and academic interests include the role of adolescents, youth, and young women in human rights movements, gender in law and policy, and the use of technology and digital media for social justice.

In addition to her work with GNWP, Doris is the founder and director of Raise Your Voice CBO, a community-based organization that empowers women and girls through education and advocacy and she also serves as a Communication Consultant for the East African Community (EAC) Pamoja for SRHR, an initiative that promotes access to sexual and reproductive health rights and services across East Africa. She has previously worked with Zenj Multimedia, Shujaaz-Inc, Protel Studios, YAS Network, and Family Health Options Kenya.

Doris is a writer and has published various advocacy and opinion write-ups in national newspapers and global platforms
