Cynthia Saxena is a second-year master’s student at NYU’s Center for Global Affairs pursuing a a degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in Transnational Security and a specialization in Global Risk. Cynthia currently works as an Equity Specialist for an NGO in Toronto and serves as Professor Anne-Marie Goetz’s graduate assistant. Previously, she has worked in the Education sectors at UNICEF’s Regional Office in Bangkok as a Junior Professional Consultant and at UNESCO’s Cluster Office in New Delhi. She has also interned at a feminist counter-terrorism NGO in Kashmir (India) and at the Ontario Legislature in Government Relations. She has lived in both Canada and India and is fluent in Hindi and speaks conversational French. Her publications include Minding Our Minds During COVID19 (UNESCO), Needs-Assessment & Policy Recommendations Report (CASSA), and a blog post for UN-Association of Canada. Cynthia holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and equity studies from the University of Toronto.
