
Ava Strasser
MS Student in Global Affairs with a concentration in Peacebuilding

Ava Strasser is a second-year master’s student at NYU’s Center for Global Affairs pursuing a degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in Peacebuilding.
Previously, she has interned with local non-profit organizations supporting the resettlement of refugees and asylum seekers in Michigan and has experience working in Lira, Uganda and Lesbos, Greece. Her research interests include the participation of displaced women and girls in peace processes and the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.
Ava holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Gender & Women’s Studies from Western Michigan University. She is currently interning with the United Nations Department of Peace Operations Security Sector Reform Unit, leading projects on gender-responsive security sector reform.
