
Anne Mugo
Associate for Africa Peacebuilding Programs
Anne Mugo is an Associate for Africa’s Peacebuilding Programs at GNWP. In this role, she supports the team in the continent’s advocacy, research, communication and programmatic work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Management and International Diplomacy, majoring in international relations.
A proud feminist leader and organizer, Anne’s work is rooted on the intersections of gender, peace, health, sustainable development, human rights, diversity and social justice. She believes that our freedom is inter-connected and dependent on one another, and has worked and engaged for over 5 years within community, national and global spaces. Some of the institutions she has professionally engaged with include the ONE Campaign, Positive Young Women Voices, Making Waves, African Union and other civil society institutions. Her roles have included program management, organizing and facilitating conflict resolution dialogues, communication, campaigns and advocacy duties. On an individual level, Anne belongs to various networks and collectives of young women championing for positive change in their communities.
Anne is an avid reader and writer. She has published various advocacy and opinion write-ups in national newspapers and global platforms. She enjoys reading and sees it as a way to travel and build connections with the world.
Anne is based in Nairobi, Kenya and is trying very hard to learn new languages.
