Agnieszka Fal-Dutra Santos

Agnieszka-Fal Dutra Santos is a Program Coordinator. She coordinates GNWP’s work on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace; the linkages between CEDAW and the Women Peace and Security (WPS) agenda; Financing for WPS; and Localization of WPS Resolutions in a number of countries. She leads GNWP’s work on NAP development and implementation (including through Localization) in Sub-Saharan Africa, and is also the focal point for Central and Eastern Europe.

Agnieszka has co-authored several of GNWP’s publications, including the submission to the Global Study on UNSCR 1325; the Manual for Costing and Budgeting National Action Plans on UNSCR 1325, the policy brief on the synergies between CEDAW and the WPS resolutions, the Toolkit on Localization of UNSCR 1325 (Forthcoming) and the Study on Women’s Civil Society Perceptions on Sustaining Peace (Forthcoming – summary report available here).

Prior to joining GNWP, Agnieszka worked on issues related to women, peace and security and conflict-related sexual violence with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mercy Corps and UN Women. She contributed to the development of the Jordanian National Action Plan for the implementation of UNSCR 1325; led the research on the role of religious leaders, in particular women, in conflict and peacebuilding in Nigeria’s Middle Belt; and managed the evaluation of ICRC’s efforts to prevent and respond to sexual violence in conflict and humanitarian emergencies.

Agnieszka holds a BA from the University of Oxford and a dual Master’s degree from SciencesPo Paris and the London School of Economics. Having worked at both international and local level, she strives to ensure that global policy developments are firmly rooted in the reality in the field, and drive positive change.
