Agnieszka Fal-Dutra Santos

Director of Programs

Agnieszka-Fal Dutra Santos is the Director of Programs at the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders. Agnieszka has provided technical support to the development of National Action Plans and facilitated Localization of UNSCR 1325 in 15 countries. She coordinates GNWP’s work on support to WPS implementation, including through Localization. She is the organization’s focal point for the work in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus region, and has organized and facilitated multiple regional exchanges and conferences. She also oversees the work in Latin America, Africa and Middle East and North Africa.

Agnieszka also coordinates GNWP’s research and global advocacy on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace; the linkages between CEDAW and WPS; and Financing for WPS. In 2018, she led a global study on local women and civil society perspectives on sustaining peace. She also authored or co-authored multiple publications on peacebuilding and WPS, including a research report on gender-sensitive provisions in peace agreements and women’s advancement post-conflict; GNWP’s submission to the Global Study on UNSCR 1325; the policy brief on CEDAW and the WPS resolutions, and the Toolkit on Localization of UNSCR 1325.

Prior to joining GNWP, Agnieszka worked on issues related to women, peace and security and conflict-related sexual violence with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mercy Corps and UN Women. Agnieszka holds a BA from the University of Oxford and a dual Master’s degree from SciencesPo Paris and the London School of Economics.
